  1. To have a serious and frank discussion between an experienced Certified Gambling Counselor and the problem gambler (with perhaps a friend or loved one participating also). 
  2. To get the problem gambler to admit that they have a problem and need help.
  3. To give the problem gambler a specific action plan to get their life back on track.
  4. To provide the problem gambler and their involved loved ones with a sense of hope, and a return to a more "normal" life.
